  1. INTRODUCTION
    ISO 22000:2018 is an internationally recognized standard that specifies requirements for a food safety management system (FSMS).  Designed to ensure food safety throughout the entire food chain, from production to consumption, ISO 22000 provides a framework for organizations to identify and control food safety hazards, thereby ensuring that food is safe for consumption.

    The standard integrates principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) with a systematic approach to food safety management, emphasizing communication, continual improvement, and the application of prerequisite programs (PRPs) and operational prerequisite programs (OPRPs).  By implementing ISO 22000, organizations can demonstrate their commitment to food safety, enhance consumer confidence, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the food industry.
